A preschool class is a structured, play-based early education environment for children ages 3. It fosters "whole-child" development, focusing on cognitive, social-emotional, and motor skills which prepares kids for pre-kindergarten through guided activities, imaginative play, and basic academics.

Curriculum

The Eureka Math Squared Pre-K Overview is a play-based curriculum designed for 4-5 year old's that introduces early mathematical skills and gently bridges into Kindergarten standards.

 

Key Curriculum Features

  • Number Core: Focuses heavily on rote counting, one-to-one correspondence, cardinality, and writing numerals.

  • Shapes & Attributes: Teaches children to sort objects by color/size and identify circles, squares, rectangles, and triangles.

  • Lesson Structure: Lessons utilize four components:

    1. Fluency: Reviews previous skills.

    2. Launch: Builds context and introduces the day's goal.

    3. Learn: The main activity where new concepts are explored through play and discussion.

    4. Land: A wrap-up discussion to synthesize learning

Amplify CKLA (Core Knowledge Language Arts) for Pre-K is an evidence-based, play-centered curriculum. It prepares children for later reading success by building foundational language, literacy, and background knowledge through 45-minute interactive daily lessons.

The program is structured to give young learners a robust, literacy-rich environment without pushing them to read before they are developmentally ready.

  • Developmental Approach: The curriculum bridges oral language and print awareness so that students are ready for the rigorous reading demands of Kindergarten.

  • Play-Based Instruction: Combines multi-sensory activities, handwriting exercises, and read-alouds tailored specifically for preschoolers.

  • Knowledge Strands: Focuses on thematic domains that teach children about science, history, and the arts, expanding their global awareness and vocabulary.
